Tributes Flow for 'Firework' Mother After Tragic Post-Christmas Crash
Heartfelt tributes are being paid to a 'much-loved' mother who died just days after Christmas following a serious collision on a major Cambridgeshire road.
Karen Marks, aged 34 from Littleport, was pronounced dead at the scene after her Fiat Punto was involved in a crash with a bus. The incident occurred on the A10 road near Ely at midday on Sunday, 28 December.
Emergency Response and Passenger Injuries
Cambridgeshire Police and paramedics rushed to the location following reports of the collision. Despite their efforts, Ms Marks could not be saved.
A male passenger in his 40s, who was travelling in the Fiat Punto, sustained serious injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition. Authorities have confirmed that no one on the bus was injured in the incident.

In a moving statement, Ms Marks' family described the profound impact she had on those around her. They said she was an unforgettable person who touched countless lives.
'Once you met Karen, you would never forget her,' her family stated. 'She was like a firework when she came in and you knew when she was around. She was a very much-loved daughter, mother and sister.'

Cambridgeshire Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the fatal collision. Officers are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist their inquiries.
'Anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage of the collision, or the moments leading up to it, should report it through the force website quoting Op Bayswater,' a police spokesperson said. 'Anyone without internet access should call 101.'
