Merseyrail trains on the Wirral line are facing disruption this morning due to a police incident in Liverpool city centre. Services on the Ellesmere Port, Chester, New Brighton and West Kirby lines have been affected.
Services cancelled or delayed
Merseyrail announced the disruption on X (formerly Twitter) this morning at around 7am. A spokesman said: "Some services on the Wirral line are cancelled or delayed, due to the police dealing with an incident near the railway at Liverpool."
Commuters advised to check ahead
Passengers travelling on the affected routes should expect delays and cancellations while the police incident is ongoing. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
