M4 Crash in Bridgend Causes Motorway Closure

A crash on the M4 in Bridgend caused a complete standstill on the motorway on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred at around 1pm, leading to the closure of the westbound carriageway after junction 36, near the A4061 Sarn Services area.

Emergency Services Respond

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene. Traffic Wales shared a photograph from traffic cameras showing three lanes blocked and emergency vehicles present. A post from Traffic Wales stated: "Road Closed - M4 Junction 36 Sarn westbound - due to a collision. Emergency services are on their way."

Road Reopens

Initially, lane one of three was closed, but cameras later indicated all three lanes were blocked. The road reopened shortly after the incident, and traffic returned to normal. South Wales Police has been approached for comment but has not yet responded.
