London is bracing for another wave of travel disruption as the London Underground faces two 24-hour strikes in early June. The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union has called for walkouts on Tuesday, June 2, and Thursday, June 4, from midnight to 11:59pm on both days. This follows a previous 48-hour strike in April and a strike mandate secured in February, though some planned actions in March and May were suspended.
Which tube lines will be affected?
If the industrial action proceeds, passengers should expect no service on the Circle Line and Piccadilly Line. Additionally, there will be no service on sections of the Metropolitan Line (between Baker Street and Aldgate) and the Central Line (between White City and Liverpool Street). Other lines will operate but with reduced services, including the Bakerloo, Jubilee, Northern, District, Hammersmith & City, Victoria, and Waterloo & City lines.
Transport for London (TfL) has advised commuters to complete their journeys before 9pm on both strike days. Services will start late and finish early, with limited trains before 6:30am. Severe disruption is anticipated across the entire network.
