Strikes by London Underground drivers, initially planned for 19 and 21 May, have been called off by the RMT union. Further strike action scheduled for 16 and 18 June has also been cancelled.
The RMT stated that the employer shifted its position, allowing for further exploration of concerns regarding new rosters, fatigue, and safety issues. The union warned that the dispute is not over and new 24-hour strikes are planned for 2 and 4 June if sufficient progress is not made.
The dispute centres on the RMT's opposition to a new four-day working week arrangement on the Underground. In full, the union said it remains committed to resolving the issues but will not hesitate to take action if necessary.
