Jet2 Samos-Manchester flight diverted to Split

A Jet2 flight travelling from Greece to Manchester Airport was diverted to Croatia on Friday (October 30) after a 'technical issue' on board. Flight LS1750 from Samos to Manchester made an emergency landing in Split, with Jet2 confirming the aircraft touched down safely and arranging a replacement plane to bring passengers home.

Flight Details and Response

The flight departed Samos at 1.38pm and had been scheduled to land in Manchester at 3.30pm before the unexpected diversion. A spokesperson for Jet2 said: "Flight LS1750 from Samos to Manchester diverted to Split this afternoon (Friday 30th October) due to a technical issue."

The spokesperson added: "The aircraft landed safely and a replacement aircraft is on its way to Split to fly customers home. The health, safety and well-being of everyone onboard will always be our number one priority and we would of course like to sincerely apologise to customers for this experience."

Earlier Diverted Flight

The incident follows another diversion earlier this month when an easyJet flight from Glasgow to Southampton was forced to land at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Departing just after 8am on Sunday October 18, the flight was scheduled to land about an hour later, but an emergency was declared 25 minutes after take-off following a collision with birds.

An easyJet spokesperson said: "Flight EZY415 from Glasgow to Southampton this morning diverted to Liverpool in line with procedures due to a bird strike after take-off. We are arranging for a replacement aircraft to continue the flight to Southampton later this morning. The safety of our customers and crew is our highest priority, and while this was outside of our control, we would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused."
