The Prince and Princess of Wales have marked Halloween by sharing an image of Prince Louis with a pumpkin. The picture shows Prince Louis at the age of one, bending down to touch a large pumpkin.

Royal fans react to the throwback photo

Royal fans have shared their reactions to the image. One person wrote: “Louis is a little sweetheart.” Another commented: “Awww cute!” A third added: “Aww what a lovely picture!! Thank you so much for this sweet surprise. Look how tiny Prince Louis was! Time flies so fast.”

Prince Louis, eight, is fourth in line to the throne and the youngest son of the Prince and Princess of Wales. His elder siblings are Prince George, 13, and Princess Charlotte, 11.

Princess Catherine's hands-on approach to motherhood

Princess Catherine enjoys spending time with her children and has taken part in Halloween traditions with them over the years. She takes a hands-on approach to motherhood, from preparing family dinners to bouncing on the trampoline with her family.

The Waleses have embraced Halloween in recent years. Catherine was once captured on a neighbour's CCTV doorbell taking her children trick-or-treating. A 2022 clip showed the royal mother standing by a London gate, holding a heavy bag of sweet treats while her children waited in their costumes.

Halloween shopping trips

In 2019, the Princess was spotted doing a supermarket dash at the King's Lynn branch of Sainsbury's to pick up costumes for her children. Local shoppers watched as she browsed the holiday displays alongside a young George and Charlotte.

One shopper told the Mirror at the time: "She was with Charlotte and George looking at Halloween outfits, but her bodyguard was kind of watching people with phones and telling them no pictures. I didn't see what she actually bought. The lady who told me she was there had children with her, and she said Kate was asking her children what they were going to be for Halloween. I think she bought some Halloween bits for her kids but I don't know what."
