A Jet2 flight to Lanzarote was forced to abort its landing at the last moment, narrowly avoiding a tail strike, according to reports. The incident occurred as the aircraft approached the runway at Arrecife Airport, with the pilot executing a go-around just before touchdown.
Eyewitnesses described the aircraft pulling up sharply, with the tail appearing to come close to the ground. The plane subsequently climbed away and landed safely on a second attempt. No injuries were reported among passengers or crew.
Jet2 confirmed the incident, stating that the pilot followed standard procedures to ensure safety. The airline is investigating the cause of the aborted landing. The flight, which originated from Manchester, was carrying holidaymakers to the popular Canary Island destination.
