Scottish Citylink has announced a new direct bus service between Aberdeen and Edinburgh Airport, launching on October 24. The route will cut journey times and remove the need for passengers to change buses.
Journey time reduced
Currently, passengers using the operator's existing route have to make two changes, with the journey taking almost four hours. The new direct service is expected to reduce the journey time to around two hours and 40 minutes, making it a quicker option for holidaymakers, business travellers and those visiting friends and family.
Four direct services will operate daily in each direction, connecting Edinburgh Airport with Aberdeen Union Square Bus Station. The route will operate as part of the M6 service, with buses arriving and departing from Edinburgh Airport's Stance D and Aberdeen Union Square Bus Station's Stance A or B.
Service details
The first bus from Aberdeen leaves at 3.30am, while the final service departs at 10.35pm. From the airport, the first bus leaves at 5am, with the last departing at 11pm.
Single tickets are advertised on Citylink's website for £17.60. The direct route will make travelling to Edinburgh Airport easier for passengers from the north east, removing the need for connecting buses. With four services running daily in each direction, travellers will also have more flexibility when planning their journeys and holidays.
