A lorry has jackknifed on the A55, blocking the route in one direction. The incident is on the eastbound carriageway near the junctions for Caerwys and Holywell, causing long tailbacks in the area.
Pictures from the scene show the lorry has jackknifed in the middle of the road and is across the whole carriageway.
One lane reopens
Traffic Wales confirmed one lane has reopened. Drivers say the lorry has been removed, but a lane closure remains in place.
AA traffic reports delays of 19 minutes for drivers on this stretch. One lane may have reopened, but there are still long delays eastbound between Junction 31 for Caerwys and Junction 32 (Holywell/Dolphin).
Motorists stuck in gridlock
One driver said they had been stuck for almost an hour. They added: "It has been a complete gridlock for that time."
Another motorist says they are starting to 'crawl forward' after being stuck for nearly 50 minutes. They said it looks like there is now enough space to get around the lorry in lane 2.
The A55 was closed in one direction due to the incident, with huge tailbacks reported. The eastbound carriageway remains congested as recovery work continues.
