A4217 closure in Swansea for Skyline project on November 1

Drivers in Swansea are being warned of significant disruption as a major road closure takes place for construction work on the Skyline Swansea project. The A4217 will be completely closed in the Landore area from 8am until 5pm on Sunday, November 1.

Details of the closure

The southbound lane of the A4217 between Brunel Way and White Rock Roundabout will be fully closed. Traffic management and signed diversion routes will be in place throughout the day.

Southbound traffic on the A4217 and A4067 will be diverted via Landore and Hafod on the west side of the river, using Brunel Way, Morfa Road, New Cut (A483) and rejoining the A4217 south of White Rock Roundabout. Pentrechwyth Road (B5444) will remain accessible in both directions, with a short section north of the A4217 junction operating under temporary traffic lights and single-lane traffic management.

Project background

The £49 million project at Kilvey Hill, when complete, will include an accessible cable car, downhill karting 'luge' rides, a free-to-access children's adventure playground, a sky swing, and food and drink facilities, all with views of Swansea Bay.

Motorists should expect additional traffic on Foxhole Road and Kilvey Road during the day of the closure.
