Wizz Air is expanding its Spanish network from London Luton with three new year-round routes to Málaga, Granada and Asturias, with one-way fares starting from less than £30.
The budget carrier will launch flights to Málaga and Asturias on October 25, while services to Granada begin on October 27. Málaga will operate three to four times a week, Asturias three times a week, and Granada twice a week.
Expanding Spanish network
The new routes add to Wizz Air's existing Spanish destinations from London Luton, which already include seven locations such as Bilbao, Barcelona and Seville. Earlier this year, the airline became the first to operate a direct route from the UK to Armenia.
Wizz Air's managing director Yvonne Moynihan said: 'Spain has always been a favourite with British holidaymakers, but there's so much more to the country than a summer beach holiday.'
'With three new routes launching from London Luton over the next week, we're giving our customers even more choice when it comes to exploring Spain, whatever the time of year,' she added.
What each destination offers
Málaga, located on the Costa del Sol, is known for its golden beaches, waterfront restaurants and lively city centre, with a warm climate for most of the year. Cultural attractions include the Alcazaba fortress, Málaga Cathedral and the Picasso Museum, dedicated to the artist born there.
Granada is home to the Alhambra palace complex, with general admission tickets from €22, as well as the historic Albaicín neighbourhood, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also one of the few places in Spain where restaurants and bars still serve a free plate of tapas with every drink.
Asturias, in northern Spain, offers an alternative to beach holidays. Visitors can explore the capital Oviedo's historic old town, the Picos de Europa National Park with its limestone mountains and traditional stone villages, and seaside towns such as Cudillero.
Moynihan highlighted the range of experiences: 'From winter sunshine in Malaga, and tapas in Granada, to skiing in the Sierra Nevada or discovering the beautiful coastline of Asturias, these destinations show just how much Spain has to offer beyond the summer months.'
She added: 'With fares starting from less than £30, we're continuing to grow our UK network and making it easier for more people to discover somewhere new without spending a fortune.'
