UK travel company Groupia Ltd, which specialised in group trips including stag and hen dos, has entered administration after 24 years of trading, ceasing all operations and cancelling many holidays.
Administration and Immediate Impact
Groupia Ltd, based in Bath, entered administration on June 16, 2026, and has stopped all trading. The firm offered group holiday packages to destinations across the UK and Europe, including Barcelona, Croatia, Prague, and Split. Since its founding in 2002, the company claims to have helped over 750,000 travellers. It operated under several brands, including Groupia Golf, GoHen, StagWeb, Groupia School Trips, and Company Away Day.
The company's website stated that Nigel Fox and Christopher Marsden of SandW Partners LLP have been appointed as Joint Administrators. It added: "The Company has now ceased taking new bookings, and arrangements are in place with ABTOT to support customers with existing bookings."
Customer Bookings and Refunds
Customers with reservations made on or before August 31, 2026, will not be affected. An ABTOT statement said: "ABTOT have arrangements in place, and your event is expected to go ahead as planned. Please continue to use the Company's existing VIP booking system to manage your booking." However, holidays booked from September 1, 2026, onwards will be cancelled, and affected customers are entitled to a full refund. The company advised: "Your event will unfortunately be cancelled and is subject to a refund claim." The refund method depends on how customers paid; those needing further guidance can visit the Groupia website.
Company History and Mission
Although Groupia officially launched in 2002, the concept began in 1999 when founder Simon Denning, planning a stag do, struggled to find a travel provider that could handle different-sized groups with high customer care. The company's about page notes: "One happy wedding, a funny wedding speech and some questionable wedding dancefloor moves later, StagWeb was born." Since then, over 750,000 clients have travelled with Groupia, which aimed to make group travel easy and affordable.
