A British expat living in Benidorm has called out a rude habit that he says tourists must stop immediately. Harry Poulton, who shares travel tips on TikTok, said he feels 'embarrassed as a Brit' living in Spain after witnessing disrespectful behaviour towards locals.
In a video, Poulton described seeing a group of drunk lads shouting vulgarities at two elderly Spanish women near the Strip. He stressed that while holidaymakers want to enjoy themselves, there is 'no need to be rude and disrespectful' to residents. 'We are guests in their country,' he reminded viewers.
Poulton noted that similar antics would not be tolerated in the UK and warned that such behaviour gives Britons a bad reputation, especially as some parts of Spain have expressed anti-tourist sentiments. 'Let's not bring that kind of attention to Benidorm,' he urged.
Benidorm attracts around 800,000 to 900,000 British tourists annually, making them the largest international visitor group. Known as the 'Spanish Las Vegas', the resort is famed for its bars, clubs and cabaret venues, but Poulton's comments highlight growing concerns over tourist conduct.
