Travel Expert Warns Against Common Black Friday Holiday Booking Mistake

Black Friday deals are in full swing, with many holiday packages available at discounted rates. However, travel expert Chris Harrington, Managing Director at hoppa, warns that the cheapest deal isn't always the best value.

Harrington advises checking what's included in a deal, such as resort fees, airport transfers, and cancellation policies, before comparing offers. He also highlights the importance of verifying flight times, as cheap flights may depart at inconvenient hours or involve long layovers.

Beyond booking new holidays, Black Friday can be used to secure upgrades on flights or hotels at a fraction of the usual cost. Harrington recommends prioritising flexible cancellation policies, especially for trips during winter when weather disruptions are likely.

To avoid overspending, he suggests using price comparison websites and fare-tracking tools to check if discounts are genuine. 'If the price has been inflated before the discount, it's not a true saving,' he said. He advises keeping a budget and sticking to it.

Harrington concludes: 'A little diligence now can save you a lot of stress later.'
