Kris Boyd asked Sky Sports to move past the Scottish Premiership table after Celtic's emphatic victory over Hearts, acknowledging the standings made for uncomfortable viewing for Rangers.
Celtic thumped seven goals past Hearts at Celtic Park on Sunday, extending their lead at the top of the table. The Hoops now sit four points clear of Boyd's former club Rangers and eight ahead of Hearts.
Earlier on Saturday, Derek McInnes' side drew 2-2 with Dundee at Dens Park, missing the chance to move top of the league.
Boyd's Response to Table Question
During the punditry review of the weekend's action, Eilidh Barbour asked Boyd if he wanted to "come in" and discuss the league table. Boyd replied: "No, I will pass it over. Because it doesn't make good reading for me right now. Well, it does at the bottom - because Kilmarnock are off the bottom."
Boyd then shifted the focus to Hearts and their title credentials. The Gorgie outfit pushed Celtic close last season but faltered on the final day at Celtic Park as the Hoops secured another Scottish crown.
Hearts' Tough Run Ahead
The former Kilmarnock and Rangers striker believes Wouter Vrancken's side faces a challenging period, starting with their Europa Conference League trip to Trabzonspor on Thursday.
He added: "It's testing time now for Hearts. They have a horrible game coming up on Thursday night in Europe going to Trabzonspor."
"Then, they play Motherwell away and Rangers at home - then that huge semi-final [Premier Sports Cup, vs Hibs], and I bet that is one that can't come quick enough."
"That is one they will win, they always seem to do against Hibs. It's a tough one for Hearts and they are just going to have to erase this [7-1 defeat to Celtic] from their memory and move forward."
