Swedish food chain Holy Greens, which specialises in fresh salads, warm bowls and healthy meals, is set to open its first UK restaurant in London. The opening at Cabot Square in Canary Wharf will mark the group's first site outside Scandinavia.
Founded in 2023 with 30 Swedish branches
Founded in 2023 by David Egonson and Nebo Pavicevic, Holy Greens currently operates around 30 restaurants across Sweden. The UK expansion represents a significant step for the young chain.
Chief executive Sabrina Jaeger said: "This marks an important step in our international journey, but it is also the result of nearly two years of focused work across the entire organisation. International expansion is often viewed as a single strategic decision. The reality is very different. It involves countless analyses, market visits, pilot runs, refinements to our unit economics, supplier negotiations and building the right organisational capabilities."
London as a competitive food market
Jaeger described London as one of Europe's "most competitive food markets", adding: "We have deliberately taken the time to ensure that the foundation is strong: both operationally and culturally. London is one of Europe's most competitive food markets. Entering a market like this requires discipline, resilience and a clear point of differentiation."
The executive noted that London is the group's "first step beyond Scandinavia", suggesting further international openings may follow. The company's website states: "Be part of our Scandinavian community. We are planning several new openings around London in the coming years and are always looking for new employees who respect people's differences and are passionate about providing good service. Join our green revolution."
Other foreign chains expanding in UK
The announcement comes as another foreign chain, Raising Cane's, a Louisiana-born chicken finger chain, plans to open its flagship British restaurant in late 2026 in central London between Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus.
