Ajax Axes Marijn Beuker Over LinkedIn CV Inaccuracies After Dolberg Deal
Ajax Axes Beuker Over LinkedIn CV Inaccuracies

Ajax are poised to dismiss football director Marijn Beuker after the Dutch giants identified "inaccuracies" in his LinkedIn CV, according to Dutch sources. Beuker, who previously served as Director of Football Operations at Scottish side Queen's Park, left that role in November 2023 to take up his post in Amsterdam.

Beuker on the Brink of Sacking

De Telegraaf report that Beuker is "on the brink of being sacked" and will discuss his position next week following a disappointing campaign at Ajax. The club endured a turbulent season, cycling through three managers and finishing fifth in the Eredivisie, securing only a spot in the Europa Conference League for the upcoming term.

Beuker is held jointly responsible—alongside former technical director Alex Kroes—for a lacklustre £43 million transfer splurge last season. One of the most criticised moves was the £10 million signing of Kasper Dolberg from Anderlecht, which saw Ajax snatch the Danish striker from Celtic in the final hours of the summer transfer window.

Dolberg Deal Backfires

Dolberg started just 12 matches last season, spending most of the campaign as backup to veteran Dutch striker Wout Weghorst, and managed only five goals. Ajax are now reportedly ready to offload the forward in a cut-price deal, with Danish side FC Midtjylland expressing interest in the struggling star.

The club is also investigating whether Beuker's contract can be terminated over the alleged embellishments on his LinkedIn profile. Current technical director Jordi Cruijff is overseeing transfers in the interim, while Beuker's focus has shifted to the youth academy.
