Stonham Barns Park Enters Administration After Nearly Two Decades
A prominent UK holiday park has entered administration following nearly 20 years of operation under its current management. Stonham Barns Park, situated in the picturesque Suffolk countryside, filed a formal notice to appoint an administrator on Monday, 16 February 2026.
Key Attractions and Operations
The extensive complex features a diverse range of amenities, including Stonham Golf Park, the Stonham Barns Theatre, a shopping village, and the renowned Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, among other visitor attractions. Located strategically on the A1120 tourist route, the park first opened its doors in 1987, with the existing management team assuming control in 2001.
Appointment of Joint Administrators
David Hudson and David Hinrichsen of FRP Advisory, a firm specialising in restructuring and insolvency, have been appointed as joint administrators to oversee the process. Mr Hudson, who also serves as a partner at FRP, provided reassurance regarding ongoing operations.
He stated: "We are very much focussed on business as usual and want to reassure guests with existing bookings that these are unaffected. Anyone considering booking a visit can make one with confidence too. We are actively marketing the site for sale and would welcome bidders who see the opportunity here with a well-established and popular caravan park."
Future Prospects and Sale Process
The administrators emphasise that all existing bookings remain valid and unaffected by the administration proceedings. They are actively pursuing a sale of the site, highlighting its potential as a well-established and popular destination within the tourism sector. The park's long-standing presence and diverse offerings are expected to attract interest from potential investors seeking opportunities in the leisure and hospitality industry.
