Steamship Adds Extra Cruise from Liverpool to Llandudno

The world-famous paddle steamer Waverley has confirmed a new sailing date as it prepares to visit Liverpool. Due to a change in berth availability at Holyhead, the iconic vessel has added an extra cruise from Liverpool on Friday, June 19.

Additional Sailing Offers Rare Opportunity

The additional cruise provides passengers with a unique chance to sail aboard the world's last seagoing paddle steamer as she celebrates 80 years since her launch in October 1946. Waverley will depart Liverpool at 9:45 am on Friday, traveling to Llandudno where passengers can explore the Victorian seaside town, its famous promenade, independent shops, and attractions.

Alternatively, passengers can remain onboard for a spectacular coastal cruise past the Great Orme and onward towards Puffin Island, enjoying magnificent views of the North Wales coastline.

Strong Demand Drives Extra Sailing

The extra sailing comes after strong demand for Waverley's Liverpool programme, with all other Liverpool departures sold out for several weeks. Waverley's general manager, Paul Semple, said: "We are delighted to offer this additional sailing from Liverpool at short notice. Demand for our Liverpool cruises has been exceptionally strong this season, and this extra berth availability has given us the opportunity to welcome more passengers aboard."

"Whether passengers choose to enjoy time ashore in Llandudno or stay aboard for the full coastal cruise to Puffin Island, they can look forward to a memorable day out aboard this unique historic vessel," Semple added.

Onboard Experience

Onboard Waverley, passengers can savor the sight and sound of a real steamship, hear the telegraph ring, visit the Engine Room, watch the engine start to move, and see the paddles turning through the portholes. Full catering facilities are available throughout all cruises, offering hot or cold snacks, afternoon tea and cake, hot meals in the Dining Saloon, or refreshments in one of the period lounges. Visitors can also purchase souvenirs from the onboard shop.

Bookings are now open, with tickets available from waverleyexcursions.co.uk or by calling the booking office on 0141 243 2224.
