Cunard has unveiled its 2028 and 2029 itineraries, with one sailing set to 'make history' from the UK. In May 2029, the luxury cruise line's Queen Mary 2 will make her 500th transatlantic voyage, with two embarkation points from the UK.
A Milestone Voyage from Liverpool and Southampton
The iconic luxury liner will sail on a round trip from New York, calling at Liverpool and Southampton to take on passengers. Brits will have various options; they can choose to sail the full roundtrip, or opt for the transatlantic crossing leg of the journey from the UK to New York.
It will also mark a milestone for the brand as it's the first time since 2015 that one of Cunard's transatlantic crossings will sail from Liverpool.
Cunard President Comments on the Historic Crossing
Commenting on the newly announced itineraries, Cunard's President Paul Ludlow said: "Queen Mary 2's landmark 500th Transatlantic Crossing will be one of the most significant moments in Cunard's modern history, reconnecting Liverpool with our iconic Transatlantic service."
Booking Details and Early Savings
Bookings are already open via the Cunard website, with fares starting from £2,159pp based on two passengers sharing an Inside Stateroom. The cruise line is currently offering a 10% 'Early Booking Saving' on new reservations made before December 30, 2026 (applicable when booking a Cunard Early Saver Fare, or Cunard Fare).
In the meantime, there are plenty of cruise holidays that sail from the UK, with itineraries in 2026 and 2027. Fred. Olsen Cruises offers a number of no-fly cruises from the UK in 2027, including Northern Lights sailings and sunshine destinations in Spain and Italy. Ambassador Cruise Line also offers cruises from the UK to destinations with medieval towns, coastal walks, and themed cruises. Disney Cruise Line's Disney Wish will sail from the UK for the first time in summer 2027 on Mediterranean itineraries.
