Martin Lewis has explained how passengers can secure the cheapest easyJet flights by booking on “flight release days”. The Money Saving Expert founder said the next release batch is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, 2026, when tickets for summer 2027 go on sale.
How to secure discount easyJet flights
Speaking on social media platform X, Martin said: “Tuesday 28 July 2026 is an easyJet flight release day. Now easyJet has a rather interesting system for pricing its flights, its called dynamic pricing. It means the price depends on the demand, the more demand, the more that you pay.
“The most predictable time to get cheap flights is exactly the moment it releases the flights because there is minimal demand at that time because they weren’t available beforehand.”
Millions of seats available
Martin revealed that easyJet would be releasing nearly 14 million seats across 78,000 different flights on Tuesday. He stressed that the tip was “not definitive” and there is no guarantee that individuals will definitely secure a cheap flight.
However, previous customers have made significant savings. Martin shared an example: “Claire Blakeman said ‘yep, got flights to Spain for next summer for four with old bags for £740’, she posted this a few hours after she had done it. She said ‘already gone up to £950 now’. She checked elsewhere and it was £1,300 on another airline.”
Package holidays not included
Martin confirmed that the release window was for flights only, with deals not expected on package holidays. EasyJet said: “Summer 2027 flights are now on sale, making it easier than ever to plan your next adventure for the summer holidays and beyond. Whether you’re keen to explore somewhere new or revisit a favourite destination, you can book with confidence. Secure your seats for travel between 14 June 2027 and 26 September and start counting down to your well‑earned getaway.”
Act quickly to save
Martin later provided a special tip, urging travellers to check as soon as possible, with prices likely to start rising minutes after release. He stressed: “Every time I've done this, some say: ‘It won’t work now as you’re pushing up demand’. I’ve flagged these release dates for a decade, across social media, TV, podcasts and MSE, and it’s never stopped people bagging bargains. There are 14 million seats – I’m not that powerful! The key is to get there first thing, as prices can move within minutes.”
