Liverpool Christmas Market will return to St George's Plateau on Saturday, November 21, running through the festive season until Sunday, January 3, 2027. This marks the first year the event has not ended before Christmas, with daily opening hours from 10am to 10pm.
New Operators and Venues
New contracts for 2026 have been awarded to Underbelly and Icebox Live, which will see events hosted at St George's Hall and Pier Head. With a new operator in place, significant changes and new additions are expected.
Skate St George's Ice Rink
At the centre of the experience will be a 675 square foot ice rink, welcoming skaters of all abilities to enjoy the ice beneath sparkling lights, accompanied by a festive soundtrack throughout the day and into the evening. Tickets are on sale now, priced from £11.50 for adults and £10 for children, with family tickets available from £38. Tickets can be booked at www.skatestgeorges.co.uk.
New Bars and Traders
Popular market staples such as the Alpine, Tipi Tent, Windmill and Ski Lodge bars will not return, as Underbelly is a new operator. The bars confirmed so far are Snowed Inn, Bar Humbug and On the Piste. The number of traders is expected to be lower than in previous years to facilitate Skate St George's, with an exact quantity yet to be confirmed. A variety of international food options and craft and gift traders will offer items such as jewellery, Christmas ornaments, hand-crafted leather journals, woollen wear, unique art, hand-painted creative gifts, festive tipples, and cheese.
Getting There and Parking
The market is a short distance from Liverpool Lime Street, where Northern Rail and National Rail services call. A Merseyrail station is also at Lime Street for those coming from Wirral or wishing to change to Liverpool Central, Moorfields or James Street. Parking is available at St John's Shopping Centre, the Q-Park at Queen Square, and Mount Pleasant Car Park. For sat navs, the address for St George's Plateau is St George's Pl, Liverpool L1 1JJ.
