Park Mak-rye, a Korean grandmother and social media sensation known online as Korea Grandma, spent a day in London enjoying quintessentially British experiences before hosting a Virgin Atlantic Holidays' Heart + Seoul supper club. The 43-year restaurant veteran flew into the UK on Virgin Atlantic's direct flight from Seoul and was joined by fellow halmonis, or cultural icons, as they explored the city.
London Adventures
The group ticked off a list of classic London activities, including eating fish and chips, sipping BuzzBallz, and hopping on a Lime scooter. Park Mak-rye, who gained fame for sharing her home cooking and Korean traditions online, is now bringing a taste of Seoul to Shoreditch, East London.
Heart + Seoul Supper Club
The supper club offers an open-plan communal dining experience inspired by Seoul, featuring Korean favorites such as banchan, home-cooked main dishes, traditional desserts, Soju, and local beers. Throughout the event, Park Mak-rye shares recipes, traditions, and stories that have made her a beloved figure in Korea.
Virgin Atlantic Holidays now offers a range of experiential holidays and the only UK direct flights to Seoul. One guest at each sitting will win a pair of return flights to Seoul, with eight prizes available across the weekend. Winners must book and travel within two weeks, embracing spontaneity.
