A hotel in Japan has introduced a new service allowing guests to book tiny beds and pyjamas for their stuffed toys. The offer is currently being trialled at the Toyoko Inn Osaka Dome Mae for an additional fee of 300 yen, approximately £1.50.
The trend, known as nuikatsu or “living with stuffed toys”, has gained popularity on social media, with people travelling to events accompanied by their nuigurumi plush toys. A hotel representative told J-Cast News that the service is aimed at Gen Z travellers.
According to the Toyoko Inn website, the sleepover plan includes “a special overnight set for your Oshi merch — like plushies or acrylic stands — complete with a mini bed and tiny bathrobe”. Guests are also encouraged to share photos or videos on TikTok, X, or Instagram using the hashtag #推し活なら東横イン to receive a small gift.
The overnight set is available as a rental and must be returned upon checkout. The hotel hopes the initiative will appeal to travellers who treat their plush toys as companions.
