Hidden Christmas Market Looks 'Straight Out of a Film' Near UK

A Christmas market tucked beneath a railway viaduct in Germany's Black Forest has been described as looking "straight out of a film" and is only a short flight from the UK.

The market, located in the Ravenna Gorge near Breitnau, Germany, is around an hour and a half flight from London. Holiday Pirates shared a video of the site, calling it "hidden under a railway" and saying "not enough people know about" it.

A Fairy-Tale Setting Under a Viaduct

The travel firm suggested it might be "one of the most magical Christmas markets in Europe," hidden beneath a viaduct in the Black Forest. It added that the location "looks like something straight out of a Christmas film."

While the market is said to be smaller than other big city events, its setting offers a fairy-tale atmosphere. Holiday Pirates wrote: "Picture twinkling lights, wooden stalls, traditional German food, mulled wine and a spectacular railway bridge towering above you. It's not your typical Christmas market either, the setting makes this one seriously special."

Visitor Tips and Ticket Information

Visitors are advised to "book in advance" as the market is ticketed. One woman commented: "We went last year, and it takes a ton of planning. You must pre-order tickets, but it was amazing!!" Another said: "We went a few years back, it was amazing."

Tickets range from approximately €7.50 (£6.29) to €9.50 (£8.29) depending on the time slot. The market runs from November 20 to December 20.

The official website describes the event: "It's just part of Christmas: The cosy atmosphere, aromatic scents and unique flavours of the Christmas Market in the Ravenna Gorge. There are traditional arts and crafts, Christmas music and a wide range of food & drink to suit all tastes. The steep wooded hills of the Ravenna Gorge in Breitnau, the Galgenbühl at Hofgut Sternen and the 40-metre-high Höllental Railway viaduct frame this market."
