Eurostar's £35 Flash Sale: Budget-Friendly European Escapes This Spring
As the spring sun emerges, Eurostar has unveiled an irresistible flash sale, offering budget-conscious travellers the chance to explore some of Europe's most popular cities for just £35 one-way. This limited-time promotion provides a golden opportunity to secure affordable seats on high-speed rail services from London to destinations including Paris, Lille, Brussels, Amsterdam, and Rotterdam.
Sale Details and Booking Requirements
The flash sale is active from today until April 13, with no promotional codes required—the discounted price is applied automatically during booking. To take advantage, travellers must book journeys departing from London between 22 April and 8 July 2026. However, urgency is essential, as the sale concludes in less than a week.
Some dates are excluded from the promotion, particularly select Fridays and weekends, so verifying travel dates is crucial. For those planning a round trip, a two-way journey could cost as little as £70, representing significant savings compared to standard Eurostar fares, which can reach up to £190 for a one-way ticket to Paris under normal circumstances.
Limitations and Alternative Discount Options
It's important to note that this sale does not include connecting services to destinations further afield, such as Cologne. For travellers seeking additional ways to save, Eurostar Snap offers another avenue for discounted travel, with fares reduced by up to 50%.
Designed for spontaneous adventurers, Eurostar Snap allows bookings up to 14 days in advance or as late as the day before travel. Participants choose their destination and travel dates, but specific train times are assigned by Eurostar and communicated via email at least 48 hours prior to departure. However, Snap tickets are non-exchangeable, non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-cancellable, requiring careful planning.
Future Developments: Eurostar's Fleet Expansion
This promotional initiative follows last year's announcement regarding Eurostar's fleet expansion. The company has confirmed a £1.7 billion agreement with Alstom to construct up to 50 double-decker trains, marking the first time such trains will operate in the UK.
An initial order for 30 trains has been placed, with an option for an additional 20. Named Eurostar Celestia, derived from the Latin word 'caelestis' meaning 'heavenly', these fully electric trains will feature 20% more seats, a lower floor, and a height increase of 16cm compared to the existing fleet of 17 single-decker e320s. The new fleet will enhance capacity and comfort across Eurostar's network, including routes from London St Pancras to Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam via the Channel Tunnel.
