easyJet is offering UK passengers a £66.50 passport boost as part of a new initiative designed to make travel a “little easier.” The budget airline will cover the cost of newborn babies’ passports when parents book an easyJet holiday, helping families save on child passport fees.
Currently, applying for a child passport online costs £66.50. Under the new scheme, easyJet will refund this fee for parents who book a holiday with the airline. The move is expected to benefit the 585,000 families welcoming a new baby each year in England and Wales.
Parents Welcome the Move
According to a survey conducted by easyJet and easyJet holidays, 75% of parents said the initiative would make a holiday with a baby feel more financially manageable. The study also found that more than a third (36%) of parents cited newborn passports as a major holiday hurdle, with taking the first passport photo being one of the biggest challenges.
Parents reported needing an average of four attempts to get an approved passport photo for their baby, while almost a quarter (24%) needed up to six tries. Despite these challenges, 48% of parents said the holiday was easier than expected, and 87% said they would confidently do it again.
Growing Demand for Family Travel
easyJet holidays has reported a 10% increase in infants travelling this year compared to 2025. The airline flew over 22,000 more infants across its network in 2026, with city break bookings proving popular among young families.
easyJet Captain Kate West said: “We carry millions of families across Europe every year, and we know that travelling with a baby brings a whole series of exciting firsts. We want to make travel as easy and accessible as possible for everyone, including young families, so they can enjoy all the experiences and memories that travel can bring. We hope that covering the cost of a baby’s first passport goes a small way towards making that first family adventure a little easier and gives our youngest travellers a warm welcome to the world.”
How to Claim the Offer
The airline and tour operator has teamed up with Peppa Pig, little sister Evie and her family, along with Captain West, to star in a new digital video sharing top tips for travelling abroad with an infant, including practical advice on taking a baby passport photo.
