The A7 junction connecting to the entrance road of the new Center Parcs Scottish Borders development, located 60 miles from Newcastle, has been completed on schedule. This marks a major milestone for the project, allowing the holiday village to move into its next phase of construction.
Progress on the Holiday Village
The junction's completion provides the access needed for the 2.5km entrance road, which will soon serve as the arrival route for guests visiting the village between Hawick and Selkirk. The work is part of a wider enabling programme delivered by RJ McLeod, which also includes the entrance road and car park construction.
Colin McKinlay, Chief Executive of Center Parcs, said: "Completion of the A7 junction is a positive step forward for Center Parcs Scottish Borders. It is one of the most visible signs of progress so far and will play an essential role in providing safe and efficient access as construction moves ahead."
Acknowledging Local Patience
McKinlay thanked local people, businesses, and travellers between Hawick and Selkirk for their patience during the works, noting that roadworks can affect daily journeys. He also expressed gratitude to RJ McLeod and everyone involved in delivering the work.
"We are pleased that the junction has been completed on schedule. My thanks also go to RJ McLeod and everyone involved in delivering the work," he added.
Next Steps for the Village
The junction is an early step in creating the new village, with McKinlay stating that reaching such milestones brings the company closer to welcoming its first guests. He emphasised continued collaboration with neighbours and communities across the Borders as the village takes shape.
