Brits Stunned by €10 Tapas and Sangria Deal in Benidorm

A British couple on holiday in Benidorm were left baffled after ordering tapas and sangria at a local restaurant, only to be stunned by the price of their meal. British duo Jack, widely known online as 'Jackeatseverything', and Jas were recently documenting their trip to the popular Spanish resort of Benidorm on Jack's TikTok account. Having visited before, the pair shared their favourite spots and eateries with their followers.

The Discovery of Zodiac House

"We are in Benidorm and we are heading to a place called Zodiac House," Jack revealed at the beginning of the video, as the pair were filmed making their way to the establishment. "And apparently they do like a litre of sangria and loads of tapas for something mental like €10 (£8.65) between two of you, €5 (£4.32) each. Let's go check it out."

As unbelievable as it sounded, they quickly spotted the deal on the menu — six tapas for €9, or €10 to include a jug of sangria. "Sangria has arrived and it's nice to have an actual wine glass, cause somewhere the other night gave us a Amstel glass," Jas said as he showed off the drink. The pair then selected their tapas from an extensive list of dishes displayed on the wall behind the counter.

What Did the British Couple Get for €10?

Their selections comprised a slice of bread accompanied by cheese and a chilli jam, which he declared was 'stunning' after his initial taste, a ham and cheese roll, a ham and cheese croquette, a piece of chorizo, a slice of bread with black pudding and padrón pepper, along with a fried tapas featuring aubergine that had been suggested by their waitress.

On the whole, the couple appeared thoroughly pleased with their meal, with the various tapas earning impressive scores ranging between seven and nine and a half out of ten. At the end of their visit, Jack remarked: "I love this place. We bumped into a lady from Yate, forgotten her name, but she recommended this place. So big up to you. You're a legend."

"Definitely return here. The staff are lovely. Food is really good. And yeah, they do a good sangria and it's so cheap," Jack added towards the end of the video, as their total bill came to just €10.

Online Reactions and Debates Over Authenticity

Jack was far from alone in his admiration for the eatery, as viewers soon flocked to the comments section to voice their own opinions. One person shared: "Been going there for years." "I always went there and loved the tapas," a second remarked, while another added: "Go there all the time when am in Benidorm, great place."

However, some expressed doubt over whether what the pair had consumed could genuinely be classified as tapas, with one person remarking: "Bro this couldn't be further from tapas." "Its mainly bread but for the price it will fill you up," someone else said.

Despite the debate, the deal has clearly resonated with budget-conscious travellers, highlighting Benidorm's reputation for affordable dining.
