The Entertainer has told shoppers not to make a special trip to stores this week, as all Pokemon drops planned for Friday, November 6, have been delayed due to supply issues.
The announcement comes ahead of the launch of the Mega Evolution-Delta Reign Trading Card Game (TCG), part of the 30th Celebration year for the card game. The drop will include booster packs, booster bundles and Elite Trainer boxes.
Retailer issues update on delayed stock
In a message to customers on social media, The Entertainer said: "We know lots of you have been looking forward to the Pokemon drops planned for Friday 6th November, so we wanted to share a quick update.
"Unfortunately, due to supply issues, all Pokemon drops planned for this date have been delayed.
"We're really sorry for the change of plans, but please don't make a special trip to store just yet.
"We'll keep you updated on our social pages and let you know as soon as they've arrived and are ready to buy. Thanks so much for your patience and understanding."
Other retailers expect queues
While The Entertainer has delayed its stock, other stores such as Smyths and HMV have been accepting pre-orders, and early morning queues are expected when the new products launch. Crowds lined up at these stores when anniversary products launched earlier this year.
Among the 30th Celebration products launching this month is the Figure Collection, which focuses on Mythical or Legendary Pokemon. It includes a foil promo card, an oversize card featuring Mewtwo or Mew, a sculpted figure of that Pokemon, and five booster packs from the 30th Celebration expansion.
Black Friday sale begins
The Entertainer has also revealed details of its Black Friday sale, starting today, November 5, offering up to 50% off hundreds of toys and games. The sale runs until Thursday, December 3, with savings on brands including LEGO, Harry Potter, Disney, Meccano and PAW Patrol.
Deals include the Lego Fortnite construction kit down from £90 to £65, The FurReal Peanut the Playful Monkey Electronic Pet cut by 50% to £40, and the Meccano Pro 11 in 1 Super Construction Set, also half price at £40.
