Benidorm Tourists Warned of Charity Scam on Beaches

British tourists in Benidorm have been warned about a charity scam operating on the city's beaches. Social media influencer Frank, known as 'The Stag Man', has alerted his followers to a con where groups of men pose as charity collectors to solicit donations.

In a video viewed over one million times on Instagram, Frank explains that the men approach tourists with clipboards, claiming to be collecting signatures for a petition to help disabled communities. Once a tourist signs, the men pressure them for cash donations, which they then pocket rather than donate to charity.

Frank, a travel agent and bar owner originally from Tottenham, north London, films the encounters, showing tourists being approached. His wife Jade, described as Benidorm's 'most legendary stripper', adds in the video: 'They'll say it's for the blind, it's for the disabled... it's all a load of rubbish.'

The warning has prompted reactions from social media users, with some sharing similar experiences. One commenter said: 'I had this scam done to me and my partner luckily we had no cash on us.' Another warned: 'It's happening in Tenerife as well.'

Frank advises tourists to be wary of the tricksters, noting that after obtaining a donation, the scammers may note the contents of a wallet for potential theft later. The alert follows recent footage of a brawl at a Benidorm hotel pool.
