American's First Cornish Pasty Experience Goes Viral

An American tourist has gone viral after travelling to Cornwall to try a Cornish pasty for the first time. Kalani, who documented his experience on TikTok, visited Philp's Famous Pasties in Hayle and was impressed by the flavour and freshness of the pastry.

In the video, Kalani described the pasty as 'nice and warm' and noted that each bite revealed different ingredients, from potatoes to steak. He praised the seasoning and the pastry, calling it 'a good meat pie but in pasty form'. He rated the pasty 8.8 out of 10.

The Cornish pasty, which has Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status, must be D-shaped, crimped on one side, and filled with beef, swede, potato, and onion. Locals are protective of the dish, and many viewers commented that Kalani had chosen the right place for his first pasty.
