Alton Towers Set to Launch World's First Bluey-Themed Rollercoaster
Alton Towers is preparing to unveil a groundbreaking new attraction for families later this month: the world's first Bluey-themed ride. This exclusive addition to CBeebies Land promises to bring the beloved animated series to life with a giggle-filled adventure inspired by the popular 'Grannies' episode.
Seven Essential Details About the New Bluey Ride
Opening Date and Theme: The rollercoaster, titled Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies!, is scheduled to open on March 28. It draws inspiration from one of the show's most cherished storylines, where Bluey and his sister Bingo transform into their mischievous alter-egos, Janet and Rita.
Immersive Experience: To ensure authenticity, the creative team behind the ride watched over 180 hours of Bluey episodes, equivalent to more than a full week of continuous viewing. This dedication involved revisiting certain moments more than ten times to capture every detail accurately.
Interactive Queue Zones: While waiting to board the coaster, families can engage in interactive games and activities. The queue areas feature fun zones with games like Keepy Uppy and fairy ring dancing, designed to keep everyone entertained.
Hidden Easter Eggs: Attentive visitors can look for the mysterious Long Dog character, which is hidden in various parts of the attraction, adding an extra layer of excitement and discovery.
Recreated Bluey's Home: Before the ride begins, guests have the opportunity to take pictures inside a meticulously recreated version of the Heeler family home, allowing for memorable photo opportunities.
Robust Construction: Despite its light-hearted theme, the ride is built with safety in mind, utilizing 550 cubic metres of concrete and 55 tonnes of steel to ensure a secure and stable structure.
Themed Accommodation: For a fully immersive experience, families can book stays at the Alton Towers Hotel, which offers the UK's only Bluey-themed rooms. These accommodations provide an ultimate Bluey sleepover as part of a short break package.
