Alonissos: A Marine Sanctuary and Island Gem in Greece

Away from the water, Alonissos surprises with its lush landscapes, including Aleppo pines, oaks, maples, and olive trees across its 20-kilometre length. Hiking trails and bike paths wind through the interior, though some roads are rough, making quad bikes a preferred mode of transport. The island's beaches, such as Agios Dimitrios and secluded Kremisma, offer stunning views and serene spots for swimming. In Patitiri, the main port, visitors can explore the monk seal information centre, highlighting the park's role in protecting endangered species.
