Xbox has suffered a major outage, with its server status showing red across multiple services, locking thousands of gamers out of their accounts.

The disruption appears to be global and follows a similar outage on Sony's PlayStation network just days earlier.

Four crucial services are affected: Account and Profile, Store and Subscriptions, Games and Gaming, and Apps and Mobile.

According to DownDetector reports, difficulties began at approximately 2pm. Social media users report being unable to sign into their consoles or access game collections.

Xbox Support acknowledged the errors, stating they were aware of issues with sign-in, game library, and game launches.
