Vodafone free SIM upgrade for EE and O2 users at festivals

Vodafone has announced a new incentive for thousands of UK phone owners on rival networks like EE and O2, giving them a chance to use free calls, texts, and data at summer festivals. The network is offering free eSIM upgrades at major music events, allowing users to trial its service without leaving their current provider.

Free SIM at Top Festivals

The eSIMs are being distributed at festivals including Reading & Leeds, Camp Bestival, Wilderness, Kendal Calling, and Boardmasters, where Vodafone is the official connectivity partner. Festivalgoers simply need to scan a QR code placed around the venues to automatically install the eSIM on their device.

How the Trial Works

Users can keep their existing number and SIM card, easily switching between Vodafone’s network and their current provider in device settings. The eSIM lasts for seven days and includes 500 minutes of calls, 500 texts, and 50GB of data.

“As The Nation’s Network, we want to connect the nation to the people and the things they love, and bringing our network trial to even more festivals is just one way we are doing this,” a Vodafone spokesman said. “We know that historically, reliable connectivity at festivals has been a pain point for festival goers. Our network trial will offer non-Vodafone customers the chance to trial our network if they can’t connect to their own provider and allow them to enjoy the festival and not worry about staying connected.”
