Virgin Media Launches Free Smart Support for All UK Broadband Users

Virgin Media is rolling out a significant free upgrade this month, benefiting millions of broadband customers across the United Kingdom. The internet service provider (ISP) has announced the launch of its new Smart Support service, which is now being deployed nationwide at no additional cost to subscribers.

24/7 Automated Monitoring and Instant Assistance

As the name implies, Smart Support operates around the clock, seven days a week, designed to maintain optimal broadband performance throughout the year. Once activated, the system automatically checks broadband coverage and prioritises assistance for customers experiencing notable speed reductions or connectivity problems.

When an issue is detected, households receive immediate suggestions to help restore their connection. This proactive approach aims to keep users online and prevent disruptive outages that can interrupt streaming, remote work, or other online activities.

Remote Overnight Fixes and Proactive Solutions

A key advantage of Smart Support is its capability to perform remote fixes overnight. Virgin Media can apply updates or repairs while customers are asleep, minimising daytime disruptions. For more persistent problems, the service evaluates whether a customer would benefit from a WiFi Pod or Hub upgrade to enhance whole-home coverage.

If stronger coverage is needed, Virgin Media will proactively contact the customer. In cases where issues escalate, customers can book an engineer visit at no extra charge.
