New Facility to Produce Unmanned Aerial Systems
Terminal Autonomy, a US-based defence technology firm, has announced plans to construct a drone manufacturing plant in Ukraine. The facility is expected to accelerate production of unmanned aerial systems for the Ukrainian military as the war with Russia continues.
Strategic Investment
The company said the factory will be located in western Ukraine, away from front-line combat zones. It will focus on assembling mid-range reconnaissance and strike drones. Terminal Autonomy has partnered with Ukrainian defence contractors to train local engineers.
Boosting Domestic Production
Ukrainian officials welcomed the move, stating it would reduce reliance on foreign donations and create hundreds of skilled jobs. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2027, with an initial output of 500 drones per month.
