Apple has issued an urgent warning to iPhone users, advising that owners of 29 specific models may need to update their devices to avoid technical issues. The tech giant highlighted on its official website that users experiencing glitches should upgrade to iOS 26, which provides access to the latest features and security enhancements.
The company's support page urges users to back up their devices before downloading new software to ensure important information is preserved. However, not all users will see the update; Apple notes that only updates compatible with the current software version will appear. If the most recent release hasn't been downloaded, the option to install the latest version won't be visible.
To download iOS 26, users can enable automatic updates or manually check for updates in the Software Update settings. One of the most anticipated features is Liquid Glass, described as Apple's broadest design update ever, which creates a unified design language across platforms while maintaining distinct qualities. Other features include Live Translation, improved gaming experience, and privacy updates.
