Amazon has launched a limited-time deal on the 32-inch Toshiba smart TV, reducing the price from £149 to £119. The screen comes pre-installed with Freely, a service that delivers live television channels over the internet without requiring an aerial or satellite dish.
What Freely offers
Freely provides access to live TV channels and matches features found on Sky Glass TVs. Unlike Sky, Freely is completely free with no monthly subscription after purchasing the TV. However, it does not have the same extensive channel lineup as Sky. Premium features include pausing live content, personalised movie and TV recommendations, and an interactive TV guide with now-and-next listings.
TV specifications
The Toshiba screen is HD-ready only and does not support 4K. It supports Dolby Atmos audio and runs on Amazon’s Fire TV platform, enabling app downloads, games, and Alexa voice control.
Comparison with Sky Glass
Sky Glass Gen 2 offers a larger content library and includes a built-in sound bar, personalised recommendations, and a Playlists function. Sky Glass Gen 2 starts from £29 per month including a basic TV package.
