Swansea City Close in on Second Summer Signing Moussa Yeo

Swansea City are on the verge of completing their second summer signing, with RB Salzburg winger Moussa Yeo arriving in south Wales for a medical. The 22-year-old Malian international is set to join the Swans on a permanent deal, strengthening the club's wide options ahead of the new season.

Reunion with Vitor Matos

Yeo previously worked with Swansea manager Vitor Matos during their time at RB Salzburg. This connection has facilitated the move, as Matos looks to bolster his attacking lineup. Yeo scored six goals in 32 games during his first full campaign with Salzburg in 2024-25 and added another 30 appearances last season, netting two goals, including a strike against Aston Villa in a 3-2 defeat in January.

Addressing a Key Need

A winger has been a top priority on Swansea's transfer wishlist this summer, with Matos eager to increase goal contributions from wide areas. In the 2025-26 season, wingers Ronald and Eom Jisung managed only four and two league goals respectively, while Zeidane Inoussa missed a significant portion of the season due to a back injury and scored just one goal. Matos is understood to want at least one more winger before the transfer window closes, with the club seeking players capable of challenging for regular first-team football.

Second Summer Signing

Yeo will become Swansea's second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Stephen Welsh from Celtic on a free transfer. The club is also expected to pursue a left-back to provide depth behind first-choice Josh Tymon. Last season, the club brought in youngster Ishe Samuels-Smith as cover, but he has since returned to Chelsea on loan.
