Spider-Man 2 Gets Free Brand New Day Suit Ahead of Movie Release
Spider-Man 2 Gets Free Brand New Day Suit Before Movie

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is giving fans a compelling reason to replay the PS5 game. Anyone who owns the Spider-Man 2 video game can look forward to receiving a new free suit ahead of the Brand New Day movie in July. Sony and Marvel recently dropped one last trailer for their upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, scheduled for July 31, continuing the adventures of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker.

Record-Breaking Hype

The excitement surrounding the movie is immense. The previous trailer from March broke GTA 6’s record as the most watched trailer in 24 hours. Sony has cleverly remembered its PlayStation 5 Spider-Man game and plans to add a new suit alongside the movie’s release as a smart cross-promotion. Simply dubbed the Fresh Start suit, it is based on the one Spidey wears in Brand New Day. This suit was made by Peter himself and lacks any advanced technology from his previous suits, now that he is cut off from Tony Stark’s resources.

Release Details

The Fresh Start suit will be added to both the PlayStation 5 and PC versions of Spider-Man 2 a couple of days before the movie on July 28. It joins a long line of other Spider-Man suits taken from other movies, including those of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. This provides an excellent excuse to revisit Spider-Man 2, and the movie release is likely to boost game sales as fans seek more Spider-Man content.

Box Office Predictions

The movie itself is predicted to be a huge money maker for Sony and Marvel, not surprising given Spider-Man’s popularity. The Global Box Office X account reported that Brand New Day’s first 24 hours of pre-sales revenue has already surpassed every studio movie released in the US since the last Tom Holland Spider-Man film, No Way Home. No exact figures were shared, but it has reportedly yet to beat Taylor Swift: The Era Tour, which made $37 million (about £28 million) in pre-sales in its first 24 hours. However, demand is so high in the US that movie theatres are facing capacity issues.

Plot and New Powers

Brand New Day’s plot picks up after Peter had the entire world forget who he was in the previous movie, isolating himself from friends and girlfriend MJ. He must protect New York from supervillains like Scorpion and a mysterious new foe that can possess people’s bodies. Peter’s own powers are evolving, granting him organic web shooters like Maguire’s Spider-Man. The new trailer also confirms that Peter will fight the Hulk, who is presumably possessed by the new villain, forcing Peter to turn to The Punisher for assistance.
