Seven Man United transfers possible this week including £34m left-back deal
Seven Man United transfers possible this week including £34m deal

Manchester United could complete seven transfers this week ahead of the new Premier League season getting underway, including triggering a £34m release clause and five outgoings.

Incomings: David Raum and Louis Page

One potential arrival is David Raum from RB Leipzig, whose contract includes a £34m release clause. The Athletic reported last week that Raum was of interest to United, with a deal for Newcastle's Lewis Hall looking extremely unlikely. The club require a new left-back and have shifted their transfer philosophy towards signing proven talent and making use of clauses, as was the case with the Youri Tielemans deal. Raum is 28, a seasoned German international, and his current contract expires in 2027, so Leipzig may be inclined to sell.

Another potential incoming is young midfielder Louis Page. United are one of a handful of clubs interested in signing the Leicester City 18-year-old, who was named the EFL Apprentice of the Year last season. Other Premier League sides, including Arsenal and Aston Villa, are thought to be interested, but United are supposedly in pole position. The deal would likely cost around £10m.

Outgoings: Zirkzee and young prospects

Joshua Zirkzee, despite impressing in pre-season, is still likely to depart for Italy before the transfer window is over. INEOS' first signing has failed to live up to his £36.5m price tag and now looks destined for Italy, with Juventus, Roma and Como reportedly interested. He may leave on an initial loan deal with an option or obligation to buy.

Striker Ethan Wheatley, 20, is in talks with Everton, according to the Daily Mail. The academy graduate spent time with both Northampton Town and Bradford City last season and could be shipped out temporarily again if a Premier League move does not materialise.

Left-back Harry Amass has been handed valuable minutes in pre-season, but it has been suggested that he could leave for as little as £6m. The club do not deem him ready for first-team football. The 19-year-old starred for Sheffield Wednesday on loan last term before joining Norwich City on a temporary basis for the second half of the campaign. He could also be loaned out once more if not sold.

Midfield enforcer Toby Collyer has been deemed surplus to requirements with Carrick now at the helm. It is understood that he could be allowed to leave permanently, with Hull City, where he spent the second half of last season on loan, holding an interest.

Lastly, Jacob Devaney is also up for loan, with the 19-year-old midfielder impressing in pre-season. He scored in United's 5-0 win over Rosenborg and started at right-back against Wrexham. Devaney joined St. Mirren on loan in February and made an impression. He is a Republic of Ireland youth international and was born in Barnsley.
