Palworld is set to launch its 1.0 update later this week, exiting early access after over two years. The monster-collecting survival builder has been both popular and controversial, facing legal battles with Nintendo over alleged design similarities to Pokemon. Despite Nintendo's attempts, developer Pocketpair has continued development and is now ready to release the full version.
Release Time Estimate in the UK
John Buckley, communications manager at Pocketpair, announced on the game's Discord that the update is expected to roll out around 12:30pm JST on July 10. For UK players, this translates to 4:30am BST. Buckley emphasized that this is an estimate and not an exact time, stating, "Estimate time, this is NOT 100% the exact launch time." Players should not be discouraged if the update does not appear immediately at 4:30am.

Save Data and New Game Recommendations
Players do not need to delete their existing save data for the 1.0 update. However, Pocketpair highly recommends starting a new save to fully experience the changes. Buckley explained in a Discord post, "Players can continue their existing saves if they wish, as we want to respect the time and effort you have put in. However, due to the large number of changes to the game, including overhauls to mechanics and new content, we believe that starting a new character will give you the best experience of Palworld!"
Massive Update Scope
The 1.0 update is expected to be substantial. Buckley tweeted that the preliminary patch notes span 40 pages in a Google Doc, exceeding 10,000 words. The update includes overhauls to mechanics and new content, promising a significantly different experience from early access.
Platform Availability
Palworld 1.0 launches on July 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
