The discount applies to the standard silver version, while the ceramic design has £50 off. Deals on Oura's site run until 5 January, and are also available via third-party retailers. The Independent's fitness and wellbeing editor, Emilie Lavinia, praised the ring, saying it has taken her health and wellbeing to new heights, but noted its high price makes sales the ideal time to invest.
The Oura Ring 4 is described as a significant upgrade from its predecessor, with improvements in design, battery life, features and in-app experience. Lavinia called it a lifestyle-led tracker that is a valuable investment for those wanting to take charge of their health, rather than an athlete-focused device. However, the ring may not suit everyone: senior fitness writer Harry Bullmore noted that finger-worn trackers can interfere with grip during weightlifting or gymnastics.
