Range Rover has confirmed a second electric car will hit UK roads this year, with estimates suggesting the model could launch with a hefty £100,000 price tag. The Range Rover Sport Electric SUV is expected to be officially revealed in September, with the model set to hit UK roads soon after.
Game-Changing Electric Powertrain
From the outside, the model certainly looks like a Range Rover Sport, but it’s what's underneath that is a total game-changer for the brand. Range Rover claims their new model is set to “signal a new era of sporting luxury” after the car broke cover at a special preview event at Goodwood last week.
Martin Limpert, Managing Director at Range Rover, said: “Electric power brings a new edge to Range Rover Sport. The preview at Goodwood Festival of Speed is only a glimpse of how this model will redefine performance SUVs again later this year, combining the refinement and immediate performance of electric drive while further elevating the unmistakable character of Range Rover Sport our clients already know and love.”
Shared Platform and Rapid Charging
The British manufacturer is also expected to launch their standard Range Rover Electric model alongside the Sport. Both cars will share many features, with both models set to be equipped with a 118kWh battery able to travel around 300 miles. The 800-volt electrical system will allow Sport Electric owners to quickly top up their models. The technology means that batteries are likely to charge from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
Performance and Capability
The Sport model produces 542bhp, pushing the car towards a top speed of 130mph and hitting 0-62mph in just 4.4 seconds. Range Rover has also promised that the new Sport model would integrate a suite of advanced technology to unleash more power and torque. The car brand stressed that this would be amplified by an “advanced new chassis tune and audio sound, creating a drive that feels as distinctive as it is visceral, across any terrain”.
Driving Character and Future Reveals
Meanwhile, Range Rover has also promised customers that the new electric Sport model has been calibrated to “deliver the same thrilling, engaging drive that defines the sportiest expression of the brand”. Range Rover has confirmed that further details about the New Range Rover Sport Electric will be revealed later in 2026.
