Manchester United are tracking Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, valued at around £85m, and have placed Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae on a transfer list, according to reports. Manager Michael Carrick is looking to strengthen his squad before the summer window shuts.
Wharton valued at £85m
United are keeping close tabs on the 22-year-old England international, who has become one of the Premier League's hottest targets. Palace remain in a strong position, with Wharton's contract running until 2029.
Former United star Paul Scholes has urged his old club to sign Wharton, calling him the "perfect" addition to Carrick's squad. He told The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast: "I can’t believe they’re not trying to buy Adam Wharton. Sandro Tonali would have been my first-choice but with him gone now, Adam Wharton looks perfect to me."
Kim Min-jae on United wishlist
Reports in Germany claim Carrick has placed Bayern's Kim Min-jae on a 'transfer list' before the window closes. United are open to signing a new defender due to ongoing injury issues with Leny Yoro and Lisandro Martinez, as well as Harry Maguire's advanced age.
The Red Devils have long-term interest in the South Korea international and are once more keen to sign him. Kim was heavily linked with Chelsea earlier this year before they signed Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace for £52m.
United have been relatively quiet in the transfer window after an early flurry of activity. Andrey Santos, Karl Darlow and Youri Tielemans all signed for a combined fee of £85m, while Casemiro headed to Inter Miami after his contract expired and Rasmus Hojlund made his loan deal at Napoli permanent. Radek Vitek joined Middlesbrough for £7m and Altay Bayindir headed out on loan to Celta Vigo.
