Manchester United are facing a hectic summer in the transfer market, with fresh additions required as Michael Carrick's squad gears up for a Champions League campaign and the challenge of competing across multiple competitions.
United are aware of the void left in midfield following Casemiro's exit at the end of last season. The Reds have agreed a deal for Brazilian midfielder Ederson, though further signings are anticipated.
Martin Baturina Bid Tabled
Croatia midfielder Martin Baturina has been linked with a move to Old Trafford. The 23-year-old made 34 appearances for Serie A outfit Como before travelling to the World Cup, where he netted Croatia's first goal in a 4-2 loss to England.
Sky Italia has reported that United are amongst the Premier League clubs keen on the midfielder. The club are said to face competition from Aston Villa, with Baturina also drawing interest from Leeds United and Bayern Munich previously. The report adds that an unnamed club submitted a £43m bid, which was turned down by Como. Baturina moved to the Italian side from Dinamo Zagreb last year, recording eight goals and four assists from attacking midfield.
Aurelien Tchouameni Meeting Held
It has been reported that United have previously held talks with Aurelien Tchouameni's representatives. The French international was involved in a confrontation with Real Madrid teammate Federico Valverde towards the end of last season, raising questions over his long-term future at the Spanish club.
However, Madrid Zone reports that United entered into discussions with the player's representatives prior to the incident involving Valverde. It is claimed that the club were keen to assess the 26-year-old's circumstances. Spanish outlet AS reports that Real Madrid are willing to sanction a significant midfield sale as part of the club's summer overhaul under new manager Jose Mourinho. Tchouameni is cited as one of the options to help Los Blancos raise finances.
Meanwhile, Mourinho's team are among the sides keen on West Ham's Mateus Fernandes, who is also on United's radar. The Spanish heavyweights have already secured deals for full-backs Marc Cucurella and Denzel Dumfries, while also snapping up free agents Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva.
Thousands of Man United fans upgraded their matchday last season. This is how they did it.
