Spurs leading the race
According to The Sun, Tottenham's negotiations for Savinho are 'well advanced,' with manager Roberto De Zerbi admiring his pace and direct style of play. AC Milan have also shown interest, viewing Savinho as a potential replacement for an outgoing Rafael Leao, but Spurs are the frontrunners.
Tottenham have taken an aggressive approach in the current window following their 17th-place Premier League finish last season. They have signed free agents Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka, and spent heavily on paid transfers: £52m for Brighton's Jan Paul van Hecke, £100m for Newcastle's Sandro Tonali, and £85m for West Ham's Mateus Fernandes.
City's asking price
Manchester City are expected to demand around £65m for Savinho, who remains under contract until 2031. However, a sale may depend on City first securing cover on the flank. Ibrahim Mbaye and Yan Diomande have been identified as potential targets, though nothing definitive has been established amid considerable competition.
The sale of Savinho comes as City have already spent £116m on Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson, which has eaten into their transfer budget. Player sales may be necessary before new arrivals, especially as the club awaits the outcome of an investigation into 115 alleged breaches of financial regulations. City have continuously denied all allegations.
Maresca's new era
Enzo Maresca, who succeeded Pep Guardiola for the 2026/27 season, is expected to bring in his own players. Generating vital funds could help the 46-year-old Italian land his transfer targets, though no official offer for Savinho has been submitted yet.
